Faculty Position in Computer Science
College of the Ozarks invites applicants for a full-time faculty position in computer science. Our student-focused undergraduate institution values self-motivated, versatile faculty with strong teaching skills and the ability to work and communicate effectively with other faculty members.
The successful candidate will embrace the College’s Christ-centered mission, demonstrate a commitment to undergraduate teaching excellence, desire to serve as a mentor and positive role model, and pursue integration of the academic discipline and Christian faith. Primary teaching responsibilities will include teaching courses in the computer science major, with secondary support for the computer information systems program and the general education computer fundamentals course. Desired areas of expertise and experience include computer architecture and assembly, computer operating systems, artificial intelligence and machine learning, full-stack development, and data analytics.
Non-teaching responsibilities include working with other faculty to maintain laboratory equipment, advising students, participating in semiannual faculty workshops, serving on campus committees, and attending monthly division meetings.
Candidates should have an M.S. or higher in computer science. Salary is commensurate with experience and training, and undergraduate teaching experience is preferred.
College of the Ozarks is a small (1,500 students), liberal arts, work-study college with a commitment to evangelical Christian faith and service, located in southwest Missouri, near Branson (www.cofo.edu). Class sizes are small, with generally 15-30 students in STEM courses. There is a strong sense of community among faculty, staff, and students.
