Job Summary
- The Information Technology Auditor (IT Auditor) plans, executes, oversees, and reports on information technology related audits. The IT Auditor:
- Executes information technology and operational audits by assessing the processes and controls supporting IT systems
- Performs fieldwork and works with non-IT audit resources to execute integrated audits of key business operations and fundamental information systems
- Directs and/or performs reviews of internal control procedures and security for systems under development and/or enhancements to current systems
- Develops and maintains computer assisted audit techniques
- Completes other engagements as assigned
- The IT Auditor helps the organization reach its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to assess and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes.
Job Requirements
- Education
- Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
- Experience
- Required: Minimum 5 years of information technology administration or technical audit experience
- Preferred: Strong background in auditing techniques and/or computer control environments and a working knowledge of NIST cybersecurity framework and/or COBIT
- Skills
- Organizational, time management, prioritization, and follow-through skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to relay technical information to a technical or non-technical audience
- Ability to synthesize data and convey/document information in a clear, concise, and meaningful way
- Critical thinking with analytical and problem solving skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of auditing principles, regulations, and internal control frameworks
- Licensure/Certification/Registration
- Required: Certification in information systems, auditing, or related field
- Preferred: Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and/or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
