The Senior Systems Administrator provides technical support and assistance to new and existing users by configuring and resolving problems with the organization’s computer networks and systems. 

Responsibilities 

• Responsible for configuration, maintenance, and reliable operation of computer systems and network servers. 
• Applies knowledge of computer software, hardware, and procedures to solve problems. 
• Collaborates with IT staff to explain errors and/or recommend modifications to existing IT infrastructure, systems, or networks. 
• Perform backup operations and implement processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures 
• Manages capacity, storage planning, and database performance for organization. 
• Develop procedures and train computer system users on proper use of hardware and software. 

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field required.
• Preferred 5-10 years’ experience in database management, network administration, system administration, network management and operating systems. 
• Strong working knowledge of virtualization, VMWare, systems and networking software, hardware and networking protocols. 
• Experience with scripting and automation tools. 
• Capable of developing and implementing IT strategy with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
